Just For Nina

This past weekend I got to see my favorite cousin, Nina.... we grew up together and just had the best times. She lives in Maine on a farm, so I do not get to see her often... maybe every 4 years... that stinks..... cause she is also so talented and loves all the things I love and we see life's beauty the same way.....

Nina told me all about her Echinacea flowers , or cone flower, that grow in her garden, and how she makes them into "Echinacea tea".... she described her garden full of flowers and then those yellow birds that come.... so this painting is for Nina....

In Memory of our fun weekend. Hopefully someday I can get to see her farm in Maine... I love you Nin.....

This is another Pond painting.... I am thinking that I need to put a fisherman in this ... somewhere on the far bank..... will have to find a picture of someone fishing..... I like ponds....they give you a feeling of rest and stillness.... I feel we all need that in this fast pace world..... find a pond and sit....:)

Laurie, I was at an apple orchard yesterday and the guy was talking to me about pumpkins. They had a bunch. I told him I only got one this year when I usually many more.

He told me the bee has to pollinate the pumpkin flower seventeen times for it to become a pumpkin and if it was raining that particular day that the bee had planned on doing that, well then the bee wouldn’t do it, and then…no pumpkin. So because it was so rainy here this summer is probably why I only have one pumpkin. Although this guy had a million. But he has bees brought in just for that task. I thought you would like that bee story!

I love your blog! So beautiful and warm. Your paintings are just incredible -- and yes, you have inspired me back to the brush (I've been away for a while!).

See you Wednesday!

I really love your pond painting and do not think it needs any fisherman to spoile the quiet, natural feel of it.

Ditto on the pond painting. It has depth and gloss and looks so realistic!
