December Happenings

December is flying by so fast... the days are filled .... and time is sifting through my hands....
These are the visuals that have come from these busy days... working on Cards, spending time with
Grand kids... enjoying Christmas tea...making lists and checking them more than twice
enjoying the snow and winter scenery outside that inspires me to get it painted.......................
Birthdays that happen in December... wonderful music to listen to... and shopping... :)
Greens to cut and decorate with, red berries and pine cones and red bows...
Friends to visit and dinners to cook, candles to light...and chocolate to taste...oh and fires
in the fireplace.... good food to taste... lots of red and green... oh..but December is slipping
by and I think I love every minute... did I mention snow men to build... I missed doing it
this last snowfall..it was perfect... Merry Christmas to all of you... and may the wonder of  the Christ Child fill
your heart...and bring you Peace...

Seasons Brush..

My daughter asked me to make some Advent calendars for the kids....so I had to get painting some winter scenes...so here are some...... yes...they will be cut with little windows to open... but it is such a tradition...
they will be used again and again....and I will do more.... I was able to print two for cards....
I have been busy making pine cone critters , we have an abundance of pine cones  around...and wonderful  acorns... so it has been fun making them with the kids.....
This is our little table at the Farmer;s Market , we had fun...and will do it again in two weeks...
So I have been coming up with new cards for the Christmas season.... lots of fun work...

First Snow.....

It snowed last night... this morning was a lovely picture of orange leaves covered in a thin layer of pure white..
It is now time to change into the greys, dark greens and whites... I even noticed on my way home the tree line was bare... charcoal grey...not more color...only a few burnt orange small trees dot the dark background, and the sky was filled with lovely paynes grey clouds... yes... we enter into a new palette...I like change... it keeps us movin...

Fall Brush

Here it is the end of the gorgeous Fall season...the colors are falling to the ground...to be mixed with the earth below and be used to nourish the Spring green... how the colors bring out the wonder in us all....
We enter the season where we will go inside and gather around tables of warm and yummy food and fellowship... and  watch the colors turn from warm to cool.... the purples and greys...and then pure white...
my brush will begin a new color harmony.... I wonder what it will capture...

Works on paper

Everyday I try to do some creative thing on paper... mostly watercolors...but today I experimented
with some stamps I had.... We have been hearing and seeing Owls in the yard now.. it is so
fun to run outside and try to locate where they are...and then catching sight of them is a thrill....so I
just had to play around with the leaf and owl theme... then gathered all my treasures to take a photo
I hope you are enjoying the fall season...and getting out to take walks... and listening for those marvelous
spooky hoots in the dark...

Season's Color

Playing around with the Season's colors... I love the the warm earthy colors... thought of a fox today....
and decided to try and catch him in brush
Played around with design and shapes of Fall....
walked along the hedge row and picked a bouquet of fall....
Listening to owls at night is so exciting... new voices are back this season...
Apples are in abundance..and a crisp one is such a treat
hope you are enjoying the unfolding Fall.. each day is a new story of color!

Fall Wedding Project.....

Working on flowers for a wedding is a long process...planing on paper...talking with the bride.. and thinking
about presentation... it takes lots of hours...and one has to love working with flowers to endure it all...
I love it... and find it one of the most exciting ways to express beauty so that it brings joy to others
Fall is a wonderful time for colorful combos in flower arranging... fruits and berries can be added in and fit so well with the seasons palate
The setting we had to work in was so inspiring and full of resources to use... and each day was gorgeous!

Thanks Deby for joining me in this adventure of creating .... you are the best to work with...

The Bride was beautiful!! and she was wonderful to work with....

It was one of the most joyful weddings I have worked on... thanks Ruth!! it was all so fun....

Fall is in... and here comes color

Fall is slowly moving in...and I am ready for wonderful color everywhere outside.... I love picking up acorns
and collecting pine cones and seeds...and putting long stems of berries in buckets... watching gorgeous
butterflies go by...and picking up odd shaped leaves... The change of seasons is so refreshing and
never dull... always the excitement of those new feelings... the gathering of families,..the pumpkin food,
apple pies.... and hot cider... it all puts a good feeling inside me...and causes me to create... hope it does you also
