Summer color

 Even though our summer is really hot...and things are looking really dead outside.. I managed to paint a

 few sunflowers..and those hardy Zinnias are hangin on.. in this drought.... 

 Haven't seen too many golden finches...but if  I do.. it is such a delight 

 this has not been a good summer for the garden... it is sad...the Queen Ann Lace is in abundance on the roadsides... I would love to pick a bucket full... my favorite wildflower. .
