Just For Nina

This past weekend I got to see my favorite cousin, Nina.... we grew up together and just had the best times. She lives in Maine on a farm, so I do not get to see her often... maybe every 4 years... that stinks..... cause she is also so talented and loves all the things I love and we see life's beauty the same way.....

Nina told me all about her Echinacea flowers , or cone flower, that grow in her garden, and how she makes them into "Echinacea tea".... she described her garden full of flowers and then those yellow birds that come.... so this painting is for Nina....

In Memory of our fun weekend. Hopefully someday I can get to see her farm in Maine... I love you Nin.....

This is another Pond painting.... I am thinking that I need to put a fisherman in this ... somewhere on the far bank..... will have to find a picture of someone fishing..... I like ponds....they give you a feeling of rest and stillness.... I feel we all need that in this fast pace world..... find a pond and sit....:)

Some Favorite Things

Do you Remember the hand carved birds I was painting?.. I sent them all back to the dear man that carved them, except for two he gave me.... :).. this is a Carolina Wren.....

He surprised me with a gorgeous tea tray... that he made.... not a nail in it... isn't it lovely?!... It is used everyday... several times a day...and I love it!!! thank you Don Forsyth!!!
I took a walk around a beautiful Pond the other day... and decided I wanted to try and paint it... here are my two sketches... I will continue to work at it... Here is the last bouquet of the summer... sad to see it all fade away.... but I am enjoying the tomatoes.... Maybe I will paint them .....

Birds, Tea Trays and Fowers with bugs.... a few of my favorite things.... :)
